Podiatrist and osteopath DO with expertise in postural control
Dr Viseux is a French podiatrist and osteopath DO with expertise in postural control, movement science, and chronic pain. He completed his doctoral training in biomechanics and movement science at the Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France of Valenciennes, France, in 2020. Dr Viseux works as a clinician at the General Hospital of Hazebrouck in France and is an associate researcher at the Department of Human and Life Science of LAMIH UMR CNRS 8201 (Laboratory of Automation, Mechanics, and Industrial and Human-Computer Science). His research lies in the fields of biomechanics, neurosciences, and rehabilitation sciences. Especially fascinated by the cutaneous mechanoreceptors in the foot sole, he is currently working on the general theme of pain and motor skills in connection with the interface between the foot and the ground. More specifically, through the three-dimensional analysis of movement and the biomechanics of the human body in relation to the musculoskeletal and sensory systems, the primary goals of his research program are: 1) to improve our understanding of sensory systems, including how they function at a basic level and how they contribute to the control of posture and movement, 2) to understand the interaction of pain on these mechanisms, and 3) to propose new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.
